Our client sixth form college situated in the city centre of Manchester is looking to employ an English Graduate to support as a Teaching Assistant in September. This highly academic and outstanding rated sixth form college is looking for a subject specialist English graduate to join them to support students undertaking A-level English Language/Literature.

They are therefore looking for an English graduate who is confident in their specialism and able to support with the A-level curriculum. This educational support assistant role will suit an academic English (or related subject such as History, Media, English, Literature) graduate who has any experience in supporting students in the past. Ideally, this sixth form college is looking for a prospective future teacher and therefore a graduate who has a vested interest in the education sector.

The college has strong links to the teaching school with opportunity to progress onto a school centred teacher training programme so any interest in becoming a teacher is desirable and should be highlighted on your application.

Highlights of this position:

  • English Graduate required: September 2019 for the full academic year
  • Move from an educational support assistant role to a teaching training programme for the right English graduate
  • Applications encouraged from graduates of any related subject specialism
  • Any prior experience of working with young people highly desirable
  • Full time support role at this outstanding city centre based college
  • Pay will be dependent upon experience but range between £1200 - £1300 per month

The role:

Working in the English department, you will support students undertaking their A-levels in either Language or Literature. There are a number of students that require additional assistance or targeted support to ensure they achieve the best results possible so supporting these students will be of paramount importance.

The college:

The college is based in the south of the city centre of Manchester, making it very easy to commute to for any graduate in and around Greater Manchester. The college is accessible using public transport with buses regularly servicing the college as well as the local metrolink tram. The college has a good sized car park on site for use by all staff. The college is very highly regarded with the highest expectations of all students and staff alike. They are therefore looking for a professional English graduate who is interested in becoming a teacher and is keen to develop in their own practise.
