Future Teachers Manchester

Future teachers needed to work in schools throughout Greater Manchester. Teaching Personnel have started the future teachers programme in partnership with two secondary schools to solve the current teacher shortage.

The future teacher programme enables graduates or those looking to start a career in teaching with the opportunity to work in a secondary school for a year in your specialism subject before moving on to a school direct training programme the following September.

If you are a graduate in English, Maths or Science this is a current demand area for future teachers. Within the future teacher programme you will provide support to full class teachers and departments in your area of expertise.

What is the Future Teachers Programme?

- Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with Secondary schools across South Manchester to support with the introduction of Graduates and Aspiring Teachers.

- Successful Graduates will secure a fixed term support role within a partner Secondary school, working within the specialist subject, supporting the class teacher and working towards a teacher training place.

- On successful completion of the Future Teachers Programme, Graduates will secure a place onto the schools' training programme for 2019.

Are you eligible to be considered?

- If you are a recent Graduate or are coming to the end of your degree in a subject relating to a Secondary school teaching specialism (English/Maths/Science/Humanities/Physical Education/Performing Arts).

- If you have previous experience working with children and young people. This is not essential but is desired.

- If you are eligible to apply for a Child Workforce Enhanced DBS check and can provide two references.

- Full UK Driving Licence or access to transportation

Our partner Secondary schools range from challenging, to 'outstanding', and will support you throughout the Future Teachers Programme. You will have the opportunity to work alongside class teachers and cover full lessons to build confidence in the classroom. You will work with students across the age and ability range and be provided with the skills necessary to succeed in teaching.
