English Graduate Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large RC Secondary school in the Alnwick area of Northumberland.The school are currently recruiting for a team of English Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their English department, on both full time and part time basis.

Are you wishing to pursue a career in English teaching in the future? Do you have the confidence to lead lessons and support pupils during classes?

The position:

• Full time and Part time English Graduates required
• Supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis in the English department
• Covering English lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
• Working directly alongside the English teachers to develop activities
• Gain invaluable experience prior to starting PGCE

The school wish to appoint English Graduate Teaching Assistants with immediate effect in order to implement support in the English department prior to the examination period. All English Graduate Teaching Assistant positions will initially be offered on a temporary basis for one term, with the opportunity to gain a fixed term contract following this.

With 1,300 pupils on roll, the school is significantly larger than average and due to this they are always looking for extra support on both a full and part time basis.

Our partner Secondary school is located in Alnwick and can be accessed via public transport - it is also reachable via all main roads from Newcastle and Northumberland.
