Further Education Learning Support Assistant for September 2018

Teaching Personnel is pleased to be the recruiting partner for a college based in Southampton and their Learning Support Department. For September, the college are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants. The Additional Learning Support Team provide support to learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The College are looking for individuals who are suitably qualified and/or experienced in the following areas:

• Support for dyslexia
• Support for physical disabilities
• Support for sensory impairment
• Small group course-related workshops in literacy and numeracy
• Personal Mentoring
• E-support via e-mail
• Support in exams such as scribing

Due to the nature of the role, the college asks that candidates who may wish to apply have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of C grade in GCSE English and Maths being able to demonstrate a good level of understanding for the subjects
• Functional Skills Numeracy, Literacy and ICT would be advantageous
• Educated to degree level in a subject related to Education is desirable

You may also be required to undertake professional training courses assessable through Teaching Personnel's partner training providers. These include:

• Safeguarding and Pevent Duty
• Team Teach
• Autism Awareness
• Supporting Dyslexia

Hours can be flexible on a part or full time basis starting from September 2018. The college offers £9.10 per working hour and you will be paid initially on a weekly basis!
