Functional Skills Teacher x 2

Teaching Personnel are looking for a functional skills teacher to work with children aged 11-16 with challenging behaviour having been either temporarily or permanently excluded from a mainstream school setting. This position is based primarily in Chippenham and will require you to deliver Functional skills to students across three sites across the Bath and North East Somerset area, these being Chippenham, Trowbridge and Midsomer Norton.

The role is in one of our alternative provisions and they are primarily looking for a functional skills tutor in order to provide the essential skills needed for English, Maths and ICT. These skills are vital for young people to participate in life, learning and work.

You do not need to be a specialist in any of these subjects, but feel confident in teaching functional skills to the pupils.

The purpose of the role is to provide broad ranging programme support for Functional Skills across different subject areas, science and Information Computer Technology (ICT) being of specifically advantageous.

This is a full time role!
£80-£110.00 per day!
An immediate start date!

You will need to have:

• A child Workforce DBS on the update service, if you do not have this, we can help you
• GCSE English and Maths; Grade C or above or equivalent
• Be enthusiastic in wanting to help the pupils with their functional skills
• Be confident to work as part of a small, yet effective team where communication is paramount
• Extensive behaviour management experience, specifically with students who have complex needs and extreme behaviours
