The school based in the Bognor Regis area of West Sussex are seeking to recruit a Cover Supervisor on a flexible basis for the academic year 20/21. The role would suit someone who is looking a more flexible approach to the career that offers variety without the added pressures that a full time permanent role would entail. You will play a vital role in maintaining standards by supervising classes in the absence of a teacher; undertaking duties to support the teaching and learning; and carrying out administrative tasks when required. The ability to relate to young people, good communication skills and IT skills are essential.

The role would be well suited to a graduate seeking school based experience prior to training to teach, a qualified teacher seeking a more casual opportunity or an existing member of support staff. The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills
  • Can demonstrate that they can build good rapport with staff and students alike
  • Can remain calm and collected
  • Can take instruction as well as use their own initiative
  • Has minimum 6 months experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting
  • Have a genuine commitment to raising standards and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed
  • Is able to promote positive behaviour and would feel confident in managing a class of up to 30 students
  • Has minimum C grade in GCSE English and Maths
  • Degree in a curriculum related subject is desirable although not essential
  • Is looking for a more casual work arrangement yet dedicated and committed when needed

As a flexible Cover Supervisor working at this school, you will benefit from:

  • Weekly pay with access to an online portal where you can manage your diary, work preferences and payslips
  • A dedicated consultant from teaching personnel to support in you your employment
  • Rates of pay from GBP60-GBP80 per day (depending on the role you undertake on that day)
  • Ownership over the days you can offer to work for the school

The successful candidates will be required to undertake a criminal record check with the Disclosure and Barring Service and provide references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
