A Special School located in Tameside are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistants who have an in-depth understanding of the EYFS framework. These positions are commencing in October 2018 and will involve working on a sporadic basis so would be suitable for graduates who can be flexible.
This Setting is a small SEN primary school which is located in Tameside. The pupils who attend the Setting are aged between 4 - 19 and have a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
These roles will involve working in collaboration with Class Teachers to support the optimal development of pupils with SEN needs. The role will also involve working directly with pupils in either small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support their ongoing development. The pupils who attend this setting have EHCP plans, so pupils are working in line with the EYFS framework so would be suitable for Teaching Assistants who have an in-depth knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum.
It would be beneficial for the Teaching Assistant to have experience of planning and delivering specialised interventions designed to support the optimal development of all pupils. We would also welcome applications from those who are less experienced but have personal experiences supporting individuals with SEN.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
- A passion for supporting pupils with PMLD
- An understanding of how to cater for pupils with SEN needs
- A commitment to assuring that all pupils can achieve their optimal academic potential
- High levels of emotional and physical resilience
