Experienced Early Years Practitioner required for specialist setting in Leeds
- Experience working in nurseries or early years settings
- A desire to support pupils with special educational needs
- Experience of training in PECS, Makaton or Intensive Interaction is highly desirable
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school based in Leeds who are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join the Early Years Team.
The school are seeking someone with experience working in nursery, foundation stage or Early Years settings that have a desire to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school caters for pupils with very specific learning needs such as:
•Speech and language delay, impairments or disorders
•Specific learning difficulties
•Additional needs or moderate to severe learning difficulties
•Autistic Spectrum Conditions and/or moderate and severe learning difficulties
Due to the very specific needs of pupils, experience or training in alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or Intensive Interaction is highly desirable; as is the ability to work within a continuous provision environment, using your initiative to structure sessions and encourage pupils to interact with their environment.
