EYFS/KS1 Learning Support Assistant

Role: EYFS/KS1 LSA

Location: South Gloucestershire

Salary: £57-65 per day

The Head Teacher of an OFSTED rated 'Good' school in South Gloucestershire is seeking a learning support assistant to support KS1 and EYFS students. This school has an excellent reputation for creating a supportive learning environment for staff and student to thrive and achieve in. As a learning support assistant you will be support small groups of children who are disengaged or struggling academically. Students who transition from Reception to KS1 or are going to school for the first time often struggle within the adjustment period; it is really important to provide the right support for these children early on so they can thrive. You may also be providing additional support on a 1:1 basis with pupils with a range of SEN including autism and learning difficulties; therefore, any experience with SEN is desired. The ideal learning support assistant will have experience with phonics and working with EYFS and Key Stage 1. You will also be supporting the class teacher with whole class sizes with all areas of the curriculum. The ideal candidate:

  • Would be a strong and resilient individual who is experienced with EYFS, KS1 and SEN
  • Be able to build good relationships with parents, students and staff that you will be working alongside
  • Experience of assisting the class teacher with classroom management and delivering 1:1 support
