Are you an experienced tutor, able to teach KS3 and KS4 English?
Do you want the opportunity to work online with students across a wide range of backgrounds and abilities?
A school in Manchester is looking for an Online English Tutor, to work with students who struggle with the subject at present. These students have been identified by the head of department as being behind at present in terms of progression. Given that this is the case, a tutor is required in order to provide further support to these students, many of whom have SEN or are from disadvantaged backgrounds. The ability to differentiate lessons is imperative.
The school requires either:
- A Qualified English Teacher OR
- An English Graduate who is competent within the realm of tuition.
The Tutor will be expected to develop student ability in tackling past papers, and will be able to:
- Positively reinforce learning.
- Prepare students for asssessments.
- Target specific topics where improvement is required.
- Set engaging tasks to be completed.
- Offer consistent guidance and 1:1 support.
There may also be the opportunity to work with more than 1 student.
The school expects the applicant to have excellent subject knowledge, as well as having a good understanding of school curriculum within English. A previous track record in the achievement of good results up to GCSE is highly desirable
Whilst the sessions will begin online, there may be potential for face to face tuition to commence based on the circumstances related to Covid-19.
The school is located in Manchester, not far from the city centre. Public transport links are located close by to the school site for those that do not drive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
