Are you an English graduate with aspirations of becoming an English teacher?

Are you determined to help pass on your subject knowledge to students at GCSE level?

Teaching Personnel are currently working exclusively with a leading Trust of Schools in the Nottingham area who is looking to implement an English Mentor scheme in the new academic year. This will begin as of September and run right through to the GCSE exams. The Academy Trust currently contains 6 schools within the Nottinghamshire area and are known for actively helping support students in to a career in education and have their own Teacher Training Programme.

As an English Mentor, you will be responsible for working with small groups of students to help them prepare for their GCSEs. So a relevant degree and passion for delivering English intervention is essential, with previous paid or voluntary work within education beneficial.

The Trust of Schools working closely with Teaching Personnel to make sure that all schools are well staffed in the new academic year with English Graduates, meaning that you can tailor the amount of work you undertake to your own needs. You could work across the Trust on a full-time basis or spend 2-3 days working at 1 school within the Trust.

The schools range from ‘Requires Improvement’ through to ‘Outstanding’ giving you the perfect opportunity to experience the full range of teaching experience. The Head of Department at each school offer an incredibly supportive environment and are happy to coach mentors in preparation for the sessions.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
