English Teacher required for Large Sussex Academy

Job description

We have an exciting teaching opportunity for a passionate subject specialist to join our hardworking English department. We are a large, oversubscribed school and part of a Trust. Although we are looking to appoint someone to join our team in September 2019, we have the chance for the right applicant to start within our academy this summer term.

The department consists of 14 teachers, each with their own teaching base. There are also three specialist support assistants working with students with an EHCP. You will be expected to teach both KS3 and KS4 English (the timetable operates on a two weekly cycle). Main scale staff having a lower than average contact time. All students currently take GCSEs in English Language and Literature at the end of year 11. For more experienced applicants, there is the opportunity to take on more Leadership duties.
