Are you an experienced or newly qualified English teacher that is looking to secure a full-time, progressive role from September 2019?

Are you a professional who is driven by results and passionate about teaching English to learners of all ability levels?

  • Full-time English teacher - Required to start in September 2019.
  • 12 month temporary employment with contract extension likely to be available.
  • High achieving 'Good' graded secondary school located in the Wigan LEA.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependent on experience (£23,720 - £39,406).

This English teaching role is being advertised on a temporary, full-time basis in the first instance however the school are seeking applications from English teachers who are seeking to secure a full-time/permanent role in the future.

Ofsted Highlights;

"Current pupils in Years 7 to 11 and in most subjects, including English and Mathematics, are making faster progress than in recent years. Attainment is on a rising trend in the great majority of subjects."

"Students who resit GCSE English and mathematics make better progress towards improved grades than students nationally."

The incoming English teacher will be joining a well managed English department and will take responsibility for teaching across years 7-11. The school wish to appoint a English teacher who is able to confidently deliver engaging English lessons to students of all abilities.

This is an 11-16 secondary school with examination results above the national expectation. Located on the outskirts of the town centre the school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas; St Helens, Warrington, Chorley, Leigh, Bolton and Salford areas.
