English Graduate - Bolton

Do you have experience of working with young people that require extra literacy support? Are you an English Graduate looking for a new role starting in September 2019?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a Secondary School in the Bolton area to recruit an English Graduate for a 12 month position starting September 2019.

  • Part-time role available from September 2019
  • 12 month position from September 2019 till the end of the academic year
  • 3 days per week
  • Work as an English intervention specialist supporting a number of students
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis who require extra literacy focus in order to raise their attainment
  • Earn up to £350 per week, dependent on experience

Working as an English intervention specialist, you will be:

  • Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 11-16 in classes
  • Supporting students who require extra literacy support
  • Some students can show signs of occasional challenging behaviour
  • Expected to incorporate inventions to aid the student's learning and behaviour with the hopes of raising their progress and attainment
  • Assisting students on a 1:1 basis when they are withdrawn from English lessons to attend literacy intervention sessions that the prospective candidate should be able to plan and deliver

To be considered for this English Graduate intervention role it is required that you have experience of working with individuals who have learning difficulties or require extra support as these skills will be highly transferrable. In particular, our client school would like candidates that are familiar with students that are known to show challenging behaviour alongside their learning difficulties and therefore, require extra support with their studies. With over 900 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee these students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

As an English intervention specialist within our client school, responsibilities will include working 1:1 with students that require additional support. Further responsibilities incorporate supporting the class teacher and delivering intervention sessions to suit a particular student.

Our client is based in Bolton and can be accessed via the M61 and A58 from surrounding areas for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to Wigan, Bury and central Manchester.

For immediate consideration, please submit a full CV to Megan Knight. To obtain further information, please contact the Manchester West Secondary Office on the contact number provided below;
