Hearing Resource Base - Support Needed

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and committed ALN Teaching Assistant to join the Hearing Resource Base in a welcoming primary school in Penarth. You will support Deaf and hearing-impaired pupils to access learning, communication and school life using British Sign Language (BSL).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils using BSL in class and small groups

  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop communication skills

  • Supporting Individual Development Plans (IDPs)

  • Promoting independence, confidence and wellbeing

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds BSL Level 2 or above (essential)

  • Has experience working with Deaf or hearing-impaired children (desirable)

  • Is reliable, adaptable and a strong team player

  • Has experience in a school setting or with children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
