We are working closely with a mainstream primary school in Tooting who are looking to appoint an autism and early years experienced TAs to support pupils within the school’s autism department. The role is part-time 3 days a week starting in September 2020 and will be for one school term minimally to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with catch up learning, social development and care.
The successful teaching assistant will support children across EYFS – KS1 with learning and development programmes. TAs will also assist with assessing, designing and planning these programmes alongside senior staff and SEN specialists.
With some pupils with developmental difficulties, speech and language needs and social needs alongside their autism diagnosis having EYFS experience is beneficial. TAs in the school SEN unit will be required to support children with personal care (toileting), therapies, feeding and/or medication.

If you have experience in any of the following send your CV today:
- As an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Assistant supporting children autism or EHCPs
- Recent graduate with Early Years, Early Childhood, Pschology or Development studies
- In a Special Needs educational setting with children particularly with autism
- With challenging behaviour or de-escalation training such as Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support
- Supporting with personal care, speech and language therapy and/or therapy
- Using Makaton, PECS, TEACCH and/or signalong

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
