Early Years Setting – Southport (PR8)
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Fixed Term (Full Academic Year)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time (Term Time Only)
Pay: £13.75

Do you have the knowledge, creativity, and care needed to support children in their crucial early stages of development?

A warm and inclusive early years setting in Southport (PR8)is seeking to appoint a committed and nurturing Early Years Educator to join their team from November 2025. This full-time, fixed-term position is for the remainder of the academic year and provides an excellent opportunity to support young children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a highly supportive environment.


About the Role:

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education, supporting the development of children aged 3–5 in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Working closely with room leaders and other practitioners, you will help create a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration, communication, and personal growth.

This role is perfect for someone with proven experience in the early years sector who is confident in using observation and assessment to plan effectively for children's individual needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children’s learning and development across all areas of the EYFS
  • Deliver planned activities and contribute to child-led learning opportunities
  • Use observations and assessments to inform next steps and record progress
  • Promote children's physical, emotional, and social wellbeing
  • Encourage independence, curiosity and positive behaviour through play-based learning
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Maintain a safe, clean and inclusive environment that meets safeguarding standards
  • Work collaboratively as part of a professional and reflective early years team

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, BTEC, Tlevel or equivalent)
  • Recent and relevant experience working within the early years sector
  • A secure understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A caring, enthusiastic and child-centred approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
