Teaching Personnel – EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Prescot (L34)
Start Date: October 2025
Schedule: Full-Time

Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

 

An inclusive and welcoming one-form entry primary school located in the heart of the Knowsley community is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2025. The school is well regarded for its nurturing approach, strong relationships with families, and its commitment to providing a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment for all pupils.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated and collaborative staff team, where the wellbeing and development of children are placed at the forefront of everything they do. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences in the Early Years Foundation Stage, assisting with planning, preparation, and pastoral care.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A relevant qualification and experience in supporting EYFS (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable)
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their early development
  • The ability to foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities and lesson delivery
  • Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting children with varying needs, including those with SEND
  • Encouraging independence and active participation in learning
