A client school in North Liverpool is looking for an EAL Specialist to work alongside a group of pupils who are a little bit behind in school. The children are a mixture of Eastern European speaking and are looking for someone who has experience working with EAL pupils.
The Role:
The role is to start as soon as possible, the successful candidate will be expected to provide quality support in line with the KS1 Curriculum framework, specifically targeting improving communication within EAL pupils. The position does have the longevity to continue until July and this is an excellent opportunity to make an impression amongst Senior Leaders in school who have contacts across the Liverpool area.
The School:
The school is located in the North Liverpool area, seeing children arrive in school who are working below expected levels and then by the time they leave are in line if not ahead of target. The school is located near public transport links and tends to have a mixed catchment area, with children attending school generally meeting the national average in attainment at the end of Key Stage 1.
The Head teacher:
The Head teacher is an established figure in school and has a vision to push the school from Ofsted Good to Outstanding within the next year or so. She is keen to implement a strong community spirit amongst staff and parents as well maintaining high standards for behaviour as well as academic development. She has informed the agency that she is looking for a ‘committed and experienced practitioner who is keen to come into school and impact on the children’s learning’.
How to apply:
The school are keen to see applying candidates as soon as this week. They would like to see a number of CVs and then shortlist through a trial period. The successful applicant will then take up the role following the holidays.
