EAL Teaching Assistant required for mainstream Primary School in Leicester

Are you an experienced EAL Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity?

The Head Teacher of a mainstream Primary School in Leicester are looking to recruit an EAL Teaching Assistant for the new academic year or asap. This is a full time role.

As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will be required to provide support to pupils throughout EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with English as a second language. You will be supporting these students both within the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group booster session basis. Most of the students you will be supporting are fluent in Gujarati.

In order to be considered for this role you MUST hold a relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification (Level 2 Minimum)

Skills you'll need to show:

  • good communication and listening skills
  • the ability to build and maintain rapport with adults and children
  • calmness under pressure and when dealing with challenging or confrontational behaviour
