Full-time Design and Technology (DT) Technician required - large Salford secondary school - ASAP start.
Are you looking for a new role with an immediate start date?
Our client secondary school is situated towards the north of Salford centre, and is in the process of recruiting for a part-time Design and Technology (DT) Technician to join their DT team at the earliest opportunity. The successful DT Technician will be expected to support teachers within the DT department alongside Graphics and Resistant Materials. Other responsibilities will include preparing materials for DT lessons, cutting wood, ordering stock and providing in class support. The school has recently been refurbished through the Salford Schools' Development Programme, and due to this - the DT faculty have access to state of the art resources and facilities.
The post of Design and Technology Technician will require you to prepare resources for lessons at the direction of teachers, using machinery relevant to the subject and supporting pupils within the classroom. It is essential that the incoming Design and Technology Technician has experience working with machinery and the relevent certifications to work with this.
- Part-time Design and Technology Technician required, days negotiable - immediate start.
- Working within a large secondary school, with great facilities and opportunities for permanent appointment.
- ASAP start for suitable Design and Technology Technicians with previous experience.
- Competitive rates of pay in line with previous experience.
- Promote safe working practices in line with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage stock and supplies.
- Maintain equipment and check for quality/safety.
Application requirements
- Must have D&T association accredited certificates for using high risk machinery.
- Have a health and safety certificate.
- Have previous experience as a Design and Technology and/or Graphics Technician.
Situated near to Swinton, Salford - our partner school can easily be reached via the A580 (East Lancashire Road). For non-drivers, there is an abundance of public transportation links that lead directly to the school from Bolton, Wigan and North Manchester.
