Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to employ an enthusiastic and creative educational psychologist; to become a member of our friendly, supportive and highly regarded Educational Team.

The EPS adopts a consultative approach and uses psychology to promote the well-being and inclusion of all young people in our primary schools. There are many opportunities to work with a whole range of schools in order to raise the achievements - and promote resilience of vulnerable groups. We offer regular opportunities for high quality supervision and CPD and we have strong links with a number of the London Universities. We are constantly seeking opportunities to develop new initiatives across the Borough, in order to ensure that our children, and staff in our schools, benefit from our varied and wide ranging skills and experience.

We are seeking to appoint skilled and aspiring Educational Psychologists committed to improving outcomes for children and young people (0 -11) and their families in Islington. You will contribute massively to the core and traded service delivery to schools and settings, and you will work collaboratively with school staff and parents/carers to support young people in preparing for the next steps of their lives - socially and academically.

You must have a sound knowledge of children/young people's psychological and emotional development and be able to demonstrate key skills in the analysis of pupil progress.

You will need to have experience of adopting a consultation and solution focused approach to EP practice.

You will be based in one (or more) of our Primary schools across Islington.

Key Requirements:

  • Health and Care Professions Council registration.
  • School-based experience
  • A recognised post-graduate qualification in Psychology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a capacity to build strong and effective working relationships.
  • An awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • A commitment to promoting equal opportunities
  • Competence in the common core of skills and knowledge in working with children, young people and their families.
