Design Technology- East Manchester- September 2018
As a result of re-structuring within the Design Technology department, an exciting position has arisen for a Design Technology Teacher to join our partner secondary school from September 2018. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Technology Teacher to join a school in a progressive role with vast career development opportunities.
- Full time Design Technology teaching position
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
- Possibility of a fixed-term/permanent contract after the initial supply period
- Both newly qualified and experienced Design Technology Teachers encouraged to apply

The school are particularly seeking a Design Technology who has a track record of delivering success at both Key Stages 3 & 4. The incoming Design Technology teacher will be expected to teach all the subjects that are offered within the Design Technology department. This will mainly be Resistant Materials to KS3/4 and Food Technology to KS3. The incoming teacher will have access to modern teaching facilities due to recent investment in the classrooms. Further, in a recent inspection, pupils were said to enjoy studying Design Technology with lessons often displaying 'positive learning environments'.
This role is ideal for any Design Technology teacher who is looking to secure a progressive role in a school with an outstanding team spirit. The school's Senior Leadership team were recently praised by Ofsted for their high expectations of the pupils. Further, pupil behaviour is considered to be good with a high amount of respect being shown for all staff.
Our partner school is slightly smaller in comparison to those in the surrounding areas with it currently catering for just over 600 pupils. The numbers of pupils eligible for pupil premium and those who speak English as an Additional Language are slightly higher than the national average.
It is located on the outskirts of Manchester town centre offering excellent accessibility to East Manchester, Tameside and areas of Stockport via the M60 motorway. There are also direct public transport links (both buses & trains) to the school from Manchester city centre.
