Teaching Personnel Bristol are recruiting for a qualified Design and Technology teacher on behalf of our client, a secondary school in Bristol. The role will begin in September 2018 and is full time for the academic year 2018/2019.

About the Role:

  • You must be a full qualified teacher or an NQT.
  • You will be expected to be able to teach KS3 and KS4. The ability to teach one specialism to A Level is a desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate, and able to engage a classroom.
  • A valid DBS will also be required - teaching personnel can provide guidance on how to apply for this if necessary.

The School:

The successful candidate will be joining an OFSTED rated 'OUTSTANDING' academy school. This is the first inspection since the school became an academy in 2012.

The school prides itself on its 'Ready to Learn' policy which encourages students to take responsibility for their own decisions within a clear, fair and transparent framework. Due to this policy strong behaviour management is not a requirement as there is very little challenging behaviour. However, as with most schools there will be low level disruption so good behaviour management is desirable.

The school is a very high achieving school and this is down to both the staff and attitudes of the pupils. "Staff have high aspirations and expectations for pupils, regardless of background or starting point. Pupils have high aspirations for themselves" - OFSTED.

  • 90% of all students achieved the basics, A*-C in both English and maths GCSE for their best entry
  • 93% of our students passed English with A*-C grades and 91% passed maths with A*-C grades
