Design and Technology Teacher

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design and Technology teacher to join the teaching staff at a school in Stockport on a temporary basis. The required applicant will:

  • Hold QTS (or an equivalent qualification)
  • Be educated to degree level (preferably in DT or a related subject)
  • A proven track record in the delivery of quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.

The role will begin after the Easter Holiday in 2021 and will run for 1 term within the first instance.

The role will involve:

  • Delivering school curriculum up to GCSE level. There may be some A-Level teaching also involved in this role.
  • Preparing educational material and resources that are suitable in ensuring that pupils remain engaged with the learning process.
  • Working with students on a 1:1 basis, in order to help academic attainment whenever possible.
  • Competently using relevant equipment, as well as being able to safely demonstrate the procedures related to the use of this equipment            .
  • Working with students with EAL needs, and ensuring that these students are catered for based on individual needs.
  • Working with relevant SEN support staff, to ensure that work is differentiated to meet the needs of these pupils.
  • Successfully managing student behaviour, maintaining school policy at all times.

The candidate will:

  • Receive training, and continuous personal development throughout.
  • Gain invaluable experience within a busy secondary school.

The school’s location in Stockport is a short distance away from Manchester City Centre. There are numerous public transport links that are in close proximity to the school itself, as well as multiple motorway links also close by. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
