Cover Teacher Required in Blackburn
A large Blackburn Primary School have approached Teaching Personnel this week in order to source a cover teacher or higher level teaching assistant to work across a number of year groups in school. The Head teacher has specified that she would like to see a number of candidates who are capable in the planning and delivery of the KS2 Curriculum. She also noted that the applying candidates must have good experiences working alongside children with challenging behaviour and social emotional and mental health needs.
The role offers a good opportunity for any HLTA, NQT or Fully Qualified teachers who are looking for a role where you can cover some Core and mostly Foundation subjects. The role will be part time from January until the end of the academic year. The working hours are 0830-1530 for three days in the working week. The school are not completely set on the working days so if you are interested and flexible with your availability it will definitely be worth contacting the agency to find out more information.
The school is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted. The most recent inspection was completed last year in which the inspectors noted that the school continues to be graded as GOOD across all areas. The Head teacher has led her team consistently and supports them on a daily basis to increase confidence in school which has a knock on effect on the quality levels of teaching and learning opportunities received by the children.
As a cover teacher, you will be expected to plan for the lessons throughout the working week and you will also be expected to assess the children and feedback to the class teachers in school. As part of this role, you will have contact with a number of year groups, mainly across KS2 which will ensure you are covering the areas required.
The children who arrive in school are mainly from the local area, with a large number who will arrive working behind expected age related levels. The school monitor these children and ensure they are supported effectively from day one. It is therefore important in this role that you are able to plan for progress but also be able to differentiate for a variety of needs. This would be a super opportunity in which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for the role ready for the start of the next academic year.
