As a Cover Supervisor working within our client schools you will be covering lessons in the absence of teachers and delivering the pre planned lesson which they have set. As a cover supervisor you will be a confident. Outgoing individual who is able to build strong rapport with pupils in order to ensure pupil behaviour within lessons is appropriate and work is complete.

One of your main responsibilities will be to make sure that all students remain engaged within the lesson and are on task and completing the pre-set work by the teacher.

The role of a cover supervisor is to deliver already set work to students within a classroom setting. The successful cover supervisor won't be expected to plan and mark within this role but will work across departments as the school require. There is also the possible opportunity to tutor students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, further gaining invaluable experience of educating students within the school environment.

With our client schools located across Wigan and Leigh, the majority of our clients are commutable via the east Lancashire road for those with their own transport. Via public transport the majority of schools are easily accessible from the surrounding areas; Bolton, Warrington, Salford and St Helens. This is an average sized Secondary School with around 900 children aged 11-16 on roll, the number who speak English as an additional language is slightly lower than the national average.
