Cover Supervisor Role

Are you looking to gain experience within a Secondary School environment? Have you got good Teaching skills, but haven't got QTS within the UK? Maybe you want to enhance your behaviour management skills for future roles in and out of education?


Here at Teaching Personnel, we are on the lookout for a strong, reliable Cover Supervisor to work alongside one of our partner schools in central Durham. The school enjoys a positive reputation locally and is currently oversubscribed. Behaviour is typically very good and the role of the Cover Supervisor is respected by the school, with each Supervisor receiving all of the necessary resources and support to complete their job. The school is looking for a local Cover Supervisor to be able to work at short notice with the school, so being flexible is a must. There is potential to be employed up to 5 days a week, for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow the instructions left by the Teacher to complete all work assigned
  • Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
  • Build relationships effectively with pupils and staff to help manage the classroom
  • Follow all schools policies and procedures

Candidate Requirements:

  • Have a degree in a specialist area or have experience as an unqualified Teacher
  • Hold some experience of working within Secondary Schools
  • Strong personality who does not shy away from a challenge
  • Effective communicater who can deliver lessons in various subjects by following instructions
