Job description

Full-time Cover Supervisor
South Manchester

ASAP start

Teaching Personnel are seeking a full-time flexible Cover Supervisor to join our partner school in South Manchester. The successful candidate should be passionate about supporting young people in their learning, will enjoy engaging with students and will be able to demonstrate excellent behaviour for management skills and an 'inclusive ethos'.

Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable but is not essential as full training and support will be given. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a secondary education setting as a full teaching qualification is not a prerequisite. However, a good standard of literacy and numeracy is required with sound subject knowledge across all areas. This might be demonstrated through educational qualifications or previous professional experience.

The job involves covering whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Work will be set but you will need to respond to questions, maintain good order and keep pupils on task, to ensure the highest possible standards of achievement and personal development. The successful Cover Supervisor will undertake a range of tasks to assist the smooth running of the school, such as helping with the management/preparation of resources and working with smaller groups of students outside of lessons.

Our partner school is part of a multi-academy educational trust with an ongoing commitment to opening and running academies with a high level of achievement in the Manchester area. Their Trust Partners include some of the most successful and innovative companies in the UK, all of whom have a strong commitment to Manchester. Their involvement in the Trust underlines their commitment to developing the young people of the city, and their recognition that to recruit excellent leaders from local families they have to be committed to their development prior to them becoming employees.

To apply for this position, please upload your CV for consideration. Alternatively, please call me directly on 0161 242 1794.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
