Cover Supervisor Job Description:
We are seeking a confident, reliable, and motivated Cover Supervisor to oversee classes during teacher absence. As a Secondary School Cover Supervisor, you will manage the classroom, ensure pupils remain on task, and deliver pre-set lesson plans across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
Role Responsibilities – Cover Supervisor:

Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher

Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and learning materials

Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment

Promote good behaviour and engagement in line with school policies

Support pupils with their learning and classroom tasks

Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
Person Specification – Cover Supervisor Jobs:

Experience working in a secondary school setting is highly desirable

Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities

A proactive, professional, and flexible approach
