Communication and Language support TA wanted in Tameside (OL5)

This 'GOOD' school is currently looking for an experienced teaching assistant who has experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and small groups of children who have been identified to have speech and language communication needs. This is a full-time role that runs from the end of April until the end of the academic year in July 2018.

This school has a large percentage of children on the SEN register and the children start school below national average in terms of their learning development. Therefore the school requires a member of staff to work along the Literacy co-ordinator and SENCO to help implement strategies to raise attainment for children in EYFS, KS1 & Lower KS2 with language difficulties.

We are looking for:

  • Experience supporting children in a primary school setting
  • A proactive confident communicator
  • Experience implementing speech and language programmes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are paramount!

This role is ideal for a teaching assistant who has some experience of implementing speech and language therapy or interventions to children, ideally in a primary school setting. The speech and language teaching assistant role will include some 1-1 support in class as well as small group support for children in reception class up to year 4.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
