Class Teacher

Are you a Teacher that is looking for more freedom and less paperwork? Would you prefer smaller class sizes and schools that are student welfare orientated rather than target?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a school in Middleton, Leeds (LS10) that is an Alternative Learning Provision for students from Years 6 - 11 who have EHCP statements of Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. The role is full time and ongoing until December as a minimum. You will be expected to deliver the Primary curriculum to a Year 6 class.

The school is a brand new building that was part of a multi-million project funded by the Council. It has been built to cater specifically to the needs of students that are disengaged, misunderstood, angry and frustrated. The students tend to come from disadvantaged and complex familial backgrounds and they access their learning in this provision as they have been expelled from mainstream education. All of the students have an EHCP statement of mental health and social needs.

The classes are small in size and there will be Classroom Support to help to manage behaviour and engage the students. The school expects that you tailor your lessons to the needs of the students and adopt a nurturing and therapeutic approach.
