Are you a Chemistry Graduate who wants to gains experience within Secondary Schools? Unsure whether to go in to teaching Science?

If so, we can help you! Join our Future Teachers Programme!

Future Teachers is a specialist programme that has been designed to support recent graduates and former graduates looking for a change in career in fulfilling their potential, without the additional teacher training costs.

We are currently seeking to appoint a new Chemistry Graduate to join a OFSTED graded ‘Good’ Secondary School on the out skirts of South Preston. Your roles and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • 1:1 General Classroom Teaching Assistant.
  • Science Intervention specialist: to run 1:1 and small group Chemistry intervention sessions to targeted students.
  • Cover Supervisor: cover lessons when the classroom Teacher is absent within the Science department – please note; all work will be set by the classroom Teacher prior to the Teacher being absent.
  • Help plan work for Chemistry lessons.
  • Take on the role as a Lab Technician once confident within the Science department.

Future Teachers Can Offer:

  • Voluntary Online Learning - You will have access to our CPD academy, including six free support packs with content aligned to Teacher Standards and Early Career Framework. This is not mandatory in order to complete the future teachers programme, but would be useful with your professional and personal development. The specially-developed packs include useful documents and resources to support your role, reading materials and a badge upon completion of each pack!
  • Onsite training every term at one of our large teaching schools.
  • A placement within a school for a minimum of one-term.
  • Great rates of pay.
  • A mentor at the school, to support you through the programme as well as our specialist consultants here at Teaching Personnel.
  • The opportunity to plan lessons, shadow and observe teachers in the Science Department.
  • Work in large classes, small groups and 1:1 providing Science lessons and Science Intervention sessions.
  • We encourage all graduates to join the future teacher's programme, to gain practical classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor.
  • This is a perfect opportunity to test your suitability to the profession, before committing to initial teacher training. Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to appoint a new Chemistry Graduate

To join Future Teachers, experience working in schools is ideal but not essential. Although, you will need to demonstrate your ability to build relationships, manage behaviour and work well under pressure.
