We are currently looking for experienced individuals who have supported medical needs to work as teaching assistants with roles starting in September 2019. The academy trust has sites across West London and South West London and is well-known for offering life-changing learning and social opportunities to vulnerable children and adults.
The academy has primary, secondary and post-16 positions with pupil's ages ranging from 5 to 22 years old. Due to the complexity of the pupil's needs some are supported in wheelchairs, non-verbal, profoundly disabled and may complex behavioural needs.
What would you need to secure this job?
- MUST have experience supporting medical conditions or disabilities
- MUST live in West or South West London
- MUST be open to supporting pupils with personal care (toilet support) and/or moving and handling (manual handling)
- Commitment for regular teaching work each Monday to Friday for a minimum of two terms (full time or part time work)
Having working, voluntary or personal experience supporting medical conditions is essential to effectively support their pupils, however, training will also be provided in-house specific to special needs support.
You will be working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team with trained specialist staff and therapists to deliver and support with tailored learning and therapy plans for students.
Roles are to start in September 2019 for an academic year.
