We are seeking an inspirational qualified Business Studies Teacher to join a successful department for an interim period Easter and Summer 2020. There is the opportunity to remain with the school on a permanent basis if you so choose to. You would be expected to work on a full time basis with full teacher responsibilities for this period of time, fully immersing yourself into school life.

The school is based close to central Portsmouth and is accessible easily by car, bus and train. The school is a large purpose built facility with recently modernised classrooms, IT suites and sports facilities. The department is overseen by senior leadership and a Enterprise Coordinator. The team of 3 Enterprise Teachers have diverse teaching backgrounds and experience with many having taught overseas for charitable education programmes. Business is a popular subject, with the school offering 1 period at KS3 and the option to continue to its GCSE programme.

The school work closely with the community and local outreach programs to provide support to local businesses. Recently the school took part in a Cooperative event in which they de constructed popular products to make them more environmentally friendly and then pitched their ideas to business representatives at a large event held in Portsmouth’s guildhall.

In its most recent Ofsted report, the school was praised for its Teachers knowledge of its students and the foresight to identify pupils who may need additional help including low achievers and high achievers in the school. It also mentioned that pupils and parents are generally happy with the school correspondence and performance.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold UK QTS
• Be passionate about business and the role it play within education and the wider world
• Have a can – do attitude, and have professional conduct throughout the school
• Should have a strong understanding of the curriculum
