Maternity cover science teaching requirement at this reputable school situated in the Bracknell area to start around the Christmas break; approximately Monday 7th December 2020.

This secondary school in the Bracknell area is looking for a Science teacher to take on a maternity cover which is due to be required towards the end of the Autumn term from December onwards. Given the current situation, there is the opportunity for the successful science teacher to take on the role sooner from October half term as it is likely that the science teacher will be shielding from this point onwards.

This Science teaching position will involve teaching all sciences at KS3 and KS4 for the remainder of the academic year but could even continue thereafter given the length of the maternity requirement. If the successful scientist has a particular specialism (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) then there is a possibility to have a focus in the timetable directed towards this as the school are possibly able to move things around for the right candidate.

The Head of School said of the science teaching position:

“Our science department are a collaborative and passionate team of scientists who are looking for a confident and able Science teacher to join their team. We are happy to accept applications from Newly Qualified Teachers who are looking for a successful teaching career; able to support with the successful scientist’s NQT Induction year. Our school is situated in the prestigious area of Bracknell in very pleasant residential surroundings. We are looking for subject specialist who is looking for a long-term teaching position.”

Highlights of this science teaching position:

  • Pay will be in line with payscale for the pro rata period of time with earning potential up to GBP190 per day
  • Full time science teaching position starting on around Monday 7th December until the end of the academic year in the first instance (possibility to start sooner)
  • Planning and marking will be required as part of this science teaching role

This secondary school is a large school based in the Bracknell area, with a fantastic reputation amongst the schools around Berkshire. The senior leadership team is highly supportive of all staff members with the Head of School and Head of Science working closely together in regard to ensuring the department is well resourced and fully staffed.

Given its location, the school has plenty of access to public transport being situated just a 10-minute walk from the train station. The school itself is housed in a new building with excellent facilities and state of art laboratories as part of the science wing.
