Full-Time Teaching Assistant – PRU (Secondary) | Sherborne | 8:30am–3:30pm
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Sherborne.
This is a full-time role supporting secondary-aged pupils who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion. The school provides a nurturing and creative environment where students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, build confidence, and work towards positive futures.
The Role:

Supporting students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH)

Working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support
-
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
-
Assisting in both classroom learning and alternative/creative activities

Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils (ideally within SEN or PRU settings)

Is calm, patient, and resilient

Can build rapport with pupils who may have had challenging educational experiences

Is proactive and adaptable in their approach
-
Has a genuine passion for supporting young people
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (full-time)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
