Behaviour teaching assistant - South Woodford

£65-£80 Daily rate - PAYE - No hidden fees

We are currently looking to recruit a male behaviour support teaching assistant to work across KS2-KS3 to support the education of pupils who have social, emotional or behavioural needs in a special needs school based in South Woodford area. For this role you will be working with complex behavioural needs so previous experience working with behavioural needs will be essential , majority of pupils are non verbal and extremely lively so you will need to be engaging, patient and also have lots of energy to bring to the role!

They are looking for at least 2 of the following qualities:

  • Previous experience working in a pupil referral unit , alternative provision or experience working with challenging behavioural needs , minimum of 6 months
  • Experienced youth or community support workers applications will be welcomed
  • Support workers from mental health facilities or high risk secure units that have transferable skills working with behaviour needs with adults or children
  • Sports coaches looking to transfer skills in supporting vulnerable young pupils' education
  • Confident , engaging , positive personality

The post is to start immediately and you will be required to commit to working during term time until the end of the academic year, there will be the possibility of securing a permanent contract. The school caters for pupils that have a statement of special educational needs and are of challenging nature so that could be biting , punching or physical aggression so you will need to have a good understanding to work with students that have emotional, behavioural needs and be able to support with behaviour management!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
