Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for an extremely strong Teaching Assistant to support KS4 pupils with behavioural difficulties at a school in Blackburn ASAP!

The school have expressed that they require a strong TA who has the skills and experience to support students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The ideal candidate may have experience supporting vulnerable children or adults in a PRU, prisons / young offenders, residential environment, psychiatric institute or come from a military background.

Pupils behaviours may escalate physically and their language may be offensive / targeted towards you, therefore you must be thick-skinned and have the ability to mange this calmly and appropriately. Those with Team Teach are highly sought after but this isn't essential.

You will have the ability to build a rapport and encourage young people to re-engage in education, supporting in various subjects and encouraging positive behaviour / actions.

The working hours will usually be between 8:30 - 3:30, with an earlier finish on Fridays. You will also benefit from a free lunch!

Please do not express interest unless you have experience supporting extremely vulnerable and challenging young people as the school have deeply expressed that they need someone experienced.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
