Full-time Behaviour Support Mentor required for additional support within a mainstream secondary school in Stockport - ASAP

Are you looking to utilise your experience working with young people and challenging behaviour at one of our client secondary schools in Stockport? If so, Teaching Personnel are currently working with a partner secondary school in Stockport that are looking to recruit a behaviour support mentor ASAP on a full time temporary basis to support the class teacher with identified pupils who have some behavioural issues and are struggling to fully engage in lessons.

Due to a pastoral focus of the inclusion team at the school, the head teacher of this Stockport based secondary school wishes to appoint a behaviour support mentor who are able to support pupil engagement in lessons across a range of core subjects, especially with the summer examinations approaching. This is an exciting position for someone with a background working with challenging behaviour and who strives to help disadvantaged pupils reach their full potential!

Your role as a behaviour support mentor in the classroom will require you provide extra support to identified pupils in smaller groups or on a 1:1 basis to help raise attainment across a range of core subjects. The ideal candidate for the behaviour support role will be able to successfully build rapport with disengaged pupils and so the role will be best suited to those applicants with experience in youth work, coaching or social care.
