Behaviour Support Worker 

Full-time | Immediate Start | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need it most? We are seeking a resilient, dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) supporting secondary-aged students who present with social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

The Role:

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to manage behaviour and re-engage students in learning.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

  • Support individual students on a 1:1 and small group basis to promote emotional regulation, self-confidence, and improved classroom participation.

  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques in line with school policies.

About you:

  • Previous experience working with young people in SEMH/PRU/alternative provision settings is desirable.

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.

  • Ability to remain resilient under pressure and adapt quickly to challenging situations.

  • A commitment to helping students achieve both personally and academically.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
