Behaviour Support Mentor - September 2020
A Secondary School in the north of Nottingham (NG17) are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the special educational needs provision in September. The role will involve working within its small class groups of secondary pupils who are unable, for various reasons, to continue in mainstream education.
This role will be held on a full time basis and will commence in September after the completion of a succesful trial day, it will be ongoing until the end of the academic year however there is strong potential for this to continue further should you be successful in the role.
The position will involve working with a small group of students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with varying Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. The candidate will need to be confident in managing challenging behaviour as well as being enthusiastic and a positive role model for the students! You will be working with children from a mix of backgrounds, including children in looked after care. You will play a large role in the monitoring of students progress and development both in terms of their academic and personal achievements.
Ideally for this role, you will have experience with challenging behaviour and will be confident managing this. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including social and youth work. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced special needs teachers as well as specialist teaching assistants.
