Primary Specialist Provision (5-11)

Rawtenstall
Contract: Monday – Friday; Full time (8.15am-3.30pm)
Pay: £11.85 - £13.00 p/h

As a behaviour support the main role is to encourage children who struggle to regulate their emotions and need help to support their behavioural needs. The role will be to assist children in completing activities led by the class teacher and to practise good choices. These can pose challenging situations as the children are often disengaged. As a result, previous experience of managing challenging behaviour is desirable – this doesn’t necessarily need to be in an educational setting, applicants who have personal experiences are accepted.

The children attending this provision have identified to have SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health). Therefore, this provision provides personalised programmes to children to engage them – resulting in positive academic and social development. The headteacher of the school praises the welcoming ethos that it creates allowing children to flourish and grow into responsible young adults. The guidance that the provision offers encourages children to be accountable for their own behaviours and supports them in making the right choices.
