Full-Time MLD Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support & Personal Care) – SEN School – Preston
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

A warm and welcoming SEN school in Preston is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in September, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role:

Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with MLD, both in and out of the classroom

Assisting with personal care needs with dignity and sensitivity

Supporting the pupil’s learning, communication, and emotional development

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff to deliver tailored support

Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
About you:

Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly MLD or similar needs
-
Comfortable and confident providing personal care
-
Patient, reliable, and nurturing in nature
-
Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) desirable but not essential

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
