Full-Time MLD Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support & Personal Care) – SEN School – Preston

Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

A warm and welcoming SEN school in Preston is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in September, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with MLD, both in and out of the classroom

• Assisting with personal care needs with dignity and sensitivity

• Supporting the pupil’s learning, communication, and emotional development

• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff to deliver tailored support

• Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

About you:

• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly MLD or similar needs

• Comfortable and confident providing personal care

• Patient, reliable, and nurturing in nature

• Team player with a proactive and flexible approach

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) desirable but not essential

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
