Job description

Full time position for a Behaviour Support Assistant in an 'Outstanding' special school situated in Ashton, Tameside. The role commences as soon as possible and runs untill the end of the academic. This Setting also have permenant positions available so Teaching Assistants seeking full time roles are encourged to apply.

The school provides education for pupils 11- 16 who have a range of needs which may include: complex learning difficulties, Autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. The majorty of pupils who attend the setting have a statement of SEN and as a result of their needs they may display signs of challenging Behaviour therefore, the ideal Behaviour Support Assistant will have an understanding of de-eslcation tactics.

Ideally the Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

  • Experience working within a special needs setting (highly desirable)
  • An in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and assuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
  • A commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with complex needs
