Job description

A Setting located in Rochdale are currently looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant for a September 2019 start. This position is a full time and long term position so Behaviour Support Assistants with the appropriate experience are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

The Setting is a Specialist Provision which caters for pupils with a range of needs including: extreme challenging behaviours, teenage pregnancy and SEMH needs.The main aim of the Setting is to integrate pupils back into mainstream wherever possible. The pupils who attend this Setting often show signs of challenging behaviour and may have aggressive outbursts, so therefore the Behaviour Assistant should have experience of dealing with pupils who display challenging behaviour.

Ideally the Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with and delivering interventions to pupils who display challenging behaviour
  • A sound knowledge of crisis prevention tactics
  • High levels of emotional and physical resilience
