Teaching Personnel work closely with a Launceston based specialist School which caters specifically for pupils who can no longer remain in mainstream education. The School caters specifically for KS1 - KS4 pupils with SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and challenging behaviours. In some cases, pupils also have additional learning needs and / or speech and language difficulties. The School is smaller than average with under 40 pupils on roll and class sizes of 8 or less students. The School is based centrally in the Bude/;aunceston area and they are looking to appoint 8 full time Behaviour Mentors for the new academic year. 

The candidates applying for this role must have experience working with children, ideally, experience working with children who have additional needs. The candidate should be hard working, empathetic, resilient and confident, they must also have strong behaviour management skills and be able to build rapport with pupils who are often more difficult to engage in education. 

The role will be full time, School hours are 8.30am - 3.45pm Monday - Friday and candidates must be willing to work on a 1:1 or small group basis with pupils who can be very challenging in their behaviours. The pay for this role is negotiable dependent on experience, starting at GBP72 per day. The school will help support you with progression.

The types of candidates who get on well at the school are: Sports Coaches, Care Workers, Nursery Staff, Cover Supervisors, Activity Instructors and Personal Care Assistants

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
