Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: L34 Area, Merseyside
Start: January 2026
Hours: Full Time
Contract: Temporary
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting pupils with behavioural needs and making a real difference in their education? We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the L34 area from January.

About the Role

  • Full-time position, term-time only
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • Implementing behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help pupils engage positively in learning
  • Helping create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural needs (primary experience desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and use positive behaviour management strategies
  • A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake specialist training

Location & Transport

The school is situated in the L34 area, easily accessible via public transport and close to major routes, making commuting straightforward.
