Teaching Assistant – 1:1 ADHD Support

Location: Primary School, Formby (L37 3JT)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, Term-time
Salary: £89.85 - £101.79 per day


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD in a welcoming and inclusive primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey while developing your own skills and career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting a Year group pupil with ADHD on a 1:1 basis.
  • Implementing tailored strategies to aid focus, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management.
  • Encouraging positive social interaction and confidence-building.
  • Liaising with SENCO, parents, and external agencies where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with ADHD or additional needs.
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
