Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: Norris Green, L11

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Temporary

Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a committed Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Norris Green. This role focuses on providing targeted support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them engage positively with learning and school life. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to implement behaviour strategies and interventions tailored to individual pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with challenging behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour plans.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural needs or SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health).
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to challenging situations.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or behaviour training) desirable but not essential.
